It seems like it was because of a recent change in

setuptools

which now errors (instead of warns) with spark's style of config file. Seems like setting

setuptools<78

is supposed to fix it. But uv seems to manage it's own setuptools, so we cant just pin it in the

requirements-dev.txt

. I'm not familiar enough with UV to know how to override this, but I'm actively looking in to it.
