InfiniBand is nice but not that new I guess. I've seen it used in Oracle's Exadata machines from 2008 doing Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over InfiniBand which was quite revolutionary back then 😁

InfiniBand is not new indeed. In fact, I've been using InfiniBand-like network adapters like Myrinet since 1994. What's new is its availability on public cloud platforms and its deep integration within NVIDIA's architecture. These are game changers in my opinion.
